Barklays dog friendly cafe in Churchtown is holding a special Christmas party for pets

Pampered pooches and their owners are invited to a special Christmas party this December!

The Barklays dog friendly cafe in Churchtown is hosting its popular ‘Christmas Pawty’ on Sunday, 18th December 2022, with spaces going quickly.

Barklays owner Lesley Morgan-Macbain said: “The countdown is on for our Christmas Party!  “With only nine days to go tickets are selling fast! Tickets are just £15 and included a goody gift box, photo opportunity and a visit from Santa Paws so make sure your pups write a list.

“We can’t wait to see them all dressed up.”

Special dog friendly Christmas presents are also available.

Lesley said: “After selling out last week we now have our doggy Christmas boxes back in stock. Full of yummy treats and surprises for your doggies over the festive period. Pop into the cafe today to pick up yours.”

Barklays dog friendly cafe opened earlier this year at 136 Cambridge Road in Churchtown, next to Churchtown Lights in Southport.

Putting the ‘friendly’ firmly into the idea behind a dog friendly cafe, it offers cosy spots for seating both inside and outside.

Barklays is handily placed for the beautiful Botanic Gardens park nearby, a perfect spot for dog walking – as well as being in the perfect spot for people doing the school runs at nearby places including Churchtown Primary, St Patrick’s, Stanley High, Larkfield Primary and Presfield High.

Inside the same building as Barklays is Northam Bears dog groomers, which gives a fresh new look to dogs of all sizes.

It means that owners can sit back and enjoy a delicious cappuccino, latte or hot chocolate along with a range of hot or cold food, with a range of specials prepared daily, while their animals are busy being pampered next door.

There are special treats for dogs too, including freshly baked woofins, brownies, cookies along with Barklays’ famous pupachinos.

There are low-fat treats available too for those pooches looking to lose a little puppy fat.

Customers can enjoy lots of great events, with Barklays able to be hired out for special events including birthday parties.

Previous events have included a Pug and Pawsecco Day; a King Charlkes, Spaniel and Corgi Day; and a Trick Or Treat Halloween Pawty.

Look out for more great events in 2023.

Barklays cafe is owned by local business woman and dog lover Lesley Morgan-Macbain, who also owns the House of Mojos ladies’ hairdressers next door and the Mojos Barbers nearby.
