Southport Comedy Festival sponsored feature by Stand Up For Southport
Southport Comedy Festival in association with Halliwell Jones are delighted to announce another big name for this year’s 17 day event at Victoria Park in October.
Award winning Irish Comedian and actress Deirdre O’Kane will be performing her latest show O’Kaning on Sunday 19th October 2025, the closing night of the 2025 festival.
A household name in Ireland, Deirdre wowed the country with her performance on Dancing with the Stars (RTE1) which saw her deservedly reach the final. She has also appeared on the BBC’s QI, The Blame Game and Delete, Delete, Delete plus Dave’s As Yet Untitled. And most recently Amazon’s huge hit ‘Last One Laughing’ alongside Graham Norton.
Her leading role of Debra Moone in the award-winning Chris O’Dowd series Moone Boy on Sky One has earned her an IFTA nomination and her performance of the title role Christina Noble in Stephen Bradley’s award-winning feature film Noble.

Deirdre is the eighth name to be announced for the 2025 Southport Comedy Festival.
Deirdre will be joining fellow Irish comedians and festival favourites Jason Byrne and Jimeoin, Comedy legend Rich Hall, Multi award winning comedian and broadcaster Mark Steel, internationally acclaimed Irish comedian Ardal O’ Hanlon, best known for his starring roles in Father Ted, Death in Paradise and Derry Girls, Persian Powerhouse and Star of the Silver Screen Omid Djalili and comedian and star of Strictly Come Dancing Chris McCausland. With more shows to be announced over the next few weeks.
The 14th annual Southport Comedy Festival sponsored by Halliwell Jones will take place from 3rd to 19th October 2025. The entire festival will be staged for a fifth year in a giant luxury heated and seated marquee courtesy of Elite Marquees in Victoria Park, home of the world-renowned Southport Flower Show.
