Ruth Ryder has also created four vibrant images inside the iconic landmark, which opened in 1898 and celebrated its 125th anniversary last year.

The images will be compiled within a special concertina book for people of all ages.

Ruth said: “Whilst working at The Engine Room in Wayfarers Shopping Arcade, I am creating a concertina book, which will contain 16 illustrations – all of the shops and outlets in the arcade.

“Special edition prints will also be available to purchase at the Engine Room, once my project is completed in a few months’ time.

“I want to create an upbeat vibe of the arcade full and bustling.

“Each illustration is taking a few weeks to complete.

“I’m hoping my artwork will help to illustrate what the Wayfarers will become again in the near future, with the Engine Room being at the centre of it all.”
