An appeal has been launched to celebrate “the enduring spirit and resilience of the Windrush Generation” in Merseyside.
Members of the Windrush Generation, or their descendants, are invited to share their memories and experiences for a special exhibition due to take place at The Atkinson in Southport.
Gemma Collins Co-founder of the Southport African Caribbean Heritage Association (SACHA) said: “Calling all Windrush Generations and Descendants in Merseyside!
“Join us in a special project to capture the history and experiences of our beloved Windrush relatives.
“We are seeking oral history interviews and items from the period of 1948-1971 to celebrate the stories, memories, and legacies of the Windrush Generation.
“Your participation will ensure that the enduring spirit and resilience of the Windrush Generation are honoured and celebrated.
“Whether you are a member of the Windrush Generation or a descendant, we would love to hear from you.
“Your stories and memorabilia will form an integral part of an upcoming exhibition at The Atkinson in Southport, showcasing the profound impact of the Windrush Generation on our community.
“As part of this project, you will be invited to participate in oral recordings and be photographed for the exhibition. Further details about this exciting opportunity will follow as the project progresses.
