Dozens of supporters of Alice’s WonderDance will be taking part in the iconic Southport Mad Dog 10k run this February.
More runners are invited to join them on Sunday 8th February 2026, with donations also welcome.
So far, 57 people have signed up, including 45 adults and 12 children.
You can donate to the runners on their JustGiving page here: Sarah Lang is fundraising for Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside
Alice’s WonderDance was established last year to encourage children to enjoy dance.
It has been launched in loving memory of Alice Da Silva Aguiar, who was among the girls tragically killed in the Southport tragedy.
Her Dad, Sergio, is currently in the process of running six of the world’s major marathons to raise funds for the foundation in Alice’s memory.
Sarah Graham-Lang is now raising awareness of the Alice’s WonderDance fundraiser at the Southport Mad Dog 10k run.
She said: “I’m currently organising a sponsored run for Alice’s WonderDance which will take place via The Mad Dog 10k and Crazy Pups 1k.
“I have about 45 adults taking part and about 12 children.
“We’d love to encourage more donations to our JustGiving page.
“Sergio is running the world for his beautiful Alice. He’s inspiring so many to take on a challenge – as a way of turning grief into something positive and purposeful.
“Friends and family will come together and run the Southport Mad Dog 10k event (Kids 1K) to raise money for the amazing foundation, Alice’s WonderDance.
“Many of us are not natural runners, so this is way out of our comfort zone!
“Please donate and help spur us all on. Let’s support this fantastic foundation so close to our hearts.
“All funds raised go directly to Alice’s WonderDance Foundation, delivered in partnership with the Community Foundation Lancashire and Merseyside.”
Southport Mad Dog 10k takes place on Sunday 8th February 2026. For more details visit: HOME | MAD DOG 10K
The Mad Dog 10k is for runners of all experiences, providing an unforgettable day along the sunny shores of Southport.
The event starts and finishes at Victoria Park in Southport.
Not only are there live bands around the course, but each year there’s a new event theme, and with that theme a fancy dress competition.
In addition to the Mad Dog 10k there is the Crazy Pups race dedicated to under 16s.
Alice’s WonderDance is a foundation created and inspired by the name of Alice Da Silva Aguiar.
Her family said: We move forward with purpose, spreading the same energy, magic and love that Alice brought to every space she danced in.
“We believe dance is more than movement, it’s freedom, creativity, connection, and joy. Our work removes barriers so that every child can access dance, explore their passion, and grow through movement in a safe, empowering space.”
