The organisers of Ainsdale In Bloom say they are “honoured” that Ainsdale in Southport has been chosen to represent the North West in the Town category in the RHS Britain in Bloom UK Finals 2024.
The national recognition is all thanks to a small army of volunteers working tirelessly at various locations to make the Village a better place for people of all ages to enjoy.
Ainsdale community champion Brenda Porter said: “Ainsdale in Bloom has been awarded Gold by the RHS North West in Bloom over a number of years.
“We were delighted in 2023 not only securing Gold again but being the Best Town in the North West.
“It was such an honour for Ainsdale but also for Southport and Sefton as a whole.
“What followed was completely unexpected – being asked to represent not only our community but the North West, in the RHS Britain in Bloom UK Finals 2024.
“Ainsdale,and its community is situated between Southport and Formby and has a character all of its own with a recognised caring community it has the advantages of an environmental background.
“Having the sea, an accessible beach, pinewoods and rare and beautiful wildlife and plants together with a heritage appreciated by so many.
“As a community, we are delighted to have been recognised by the much respected Royal Horticultural Society nationally as worthy of such an honour.”
Ainsdale is up against towns in Scotland, Yorkshire, the South and the South West.
The Ainsdale In Bloom group is led by Brenda Porter and as she has said many times such success is because of the huge ongoing support from the local community.
She said: “We have 10 groups as part of our entry, and their individual contribution is vital.
“We are indeed a team working together.”
