“Everything has been going really well. Tickets are close to selling out for our remaining shows too, so please book on if there’s anyone you fancy seeing.
“People in Southport love their live comedy. We’ve seen so many familiar faces who come to enjoy the festival year after year, making the most of some of the biggest names in comedy being in town.

“We’ve been really pleased to see so many people travelling to enjoy the Southport Comedy Festival from other parts of the country. We’ve welcomed people from Liverpool, Manchester, Lancashire, all over.
“It’s brilliant news to be able to attract thousands of visitors into town during October, which will give a welcome boost to local restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, guest houses and hotels.
“We’ve enjoyed some fantastic nights so far! We’re excited to see more big names this week including Dr John Cooper Clarke, Mick Miller, Rich Hall, Jason Byrne and Deirdre O’Kane, plus our annual Southport New Comedian Of The Year competition. Tickets for the competition are just £5 each, with the chance to see some really talented up and coming comedians.

“If you’re at home this week – turn off your telly and come and watch some superb live comedy.
“You’ll be sitting in luxury, in our huge heated and seated marquee, courtesy of Elite Marquees and enjoying a large bar by Elite Events, hot dogs from Willow Catering, plus free car parking.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to our headline sponsors Halliwell Jones Kia, to our other event sponsors, our magnificent team and volunteers, Alad Adams and his team at Victoria Park, and to Mark Catherall and Sefton Tourism, for their ongoing support.”
