The second Southport Life networking event takes place at Waterfront Southport Hotel this Thursday (2nd October 2025), with all welcome.
Southport Life is a free, monthly meet-up designed to bring together local residents, businesses, charities, and community leaders to connect, collaborate, and create positive change in our town.
Their first meeting took place in September, as they invited volunteers to join them for a clean-up at Kings Gardens in Southport. This month’s project will be revealed on Thursday.
Southport Life has been founded by Serena Silcock-Prince, Operations Manager at Silcock Leisure Group, and Lizzie Barnett, owner of Studio Nine and Southport’s Journey.
They said: “Hard work shows up — sometimes in muddy boots.
“This September we kicked off Southport Life with a brilliant turnout at the Waterfront Southport Hotel. The response was phenomenal.
“Phase two? Rolling our sleeves up at King’s Gardens. Despite the weather, a bunch of us grabbed trowels and hoes, chatted as we went, and cracked on. When we stepped back, you could see the difference — beds cleared, weeds gone, and a fresh canvas ready for spring colour.
“Huge thank you to everyone who came out. It felt good to help, together.
“If you’re a business and want to get involved we’d love to meet you at the next Southport Life networking event:
Thursday 2nd October 2025, 6pm
The Waterfront Hotel — fizz & nibbles on arrival.
“Come and see how like-minded people are putting life back into Southport — and how you can support, meet, network, and enjoy.”

Southport Life is a new networking group with added social value.
What to expect:
- Friendly, informal networking
- Inspiring guest speakers
- Real conversations and fresh connections
- A platform to share what you do and support others
Serena Silcock-Prince and Lizzie Barnett said: This isn’t just networking — it’s networking with social value.
“Southport Life is a free monthly meet-up bringing together local residents, businesses, charities, and community leaders to connect, collaborate, and create positive change in our town.
“What makes this group different is that each quarter, organisers invite you to get involved in a community action project — from painting public spaces to helping clean up neglected areas, volunteering time rather than money.
“It’s about giving back, together.
“Because in Southport, we believe business and community should grow hand in hand.
“This initiative is about more than business growth. It’s about nurturing a sense of community, showing the surrounding areas the strength of our town, and proving that together we can achieve more.
“Thank you to PIB Insurance and Waterfront Southport Hotel.”
Refreshments are available, with parking provided.
