Alcedo Care has been named Large Employer of the Year 2025 at the highly regarded Employer’s Excellence Awards, in a ceremony hosted by television and radio personality Vernon Kay.

The award came after Alcedo Care, which has an office on Hoghton Street in Southport town centre, was nominated by one of its own employees, who wanted to recognise the organisation for its outstanding contribution to both its workforce and the wider community.

The nomination highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering vital care services while creating a supportive and empowering workplace culture.

In a highly competitive category, Alcedo Care was shortlisted alongside national household names such as Legal & General and Quooker – making the win an even more remarkable achievement.

Andy Boardman, Managing Director of Alcedo Care, expressed his pride in receiving the award:

“We are so thrilled to have won this award, me and my wife Jo set up Alcedo eight years ago and we were determined to create a great care service that not only enriched and supported the people we care for but also to create a work environment where everyone feels valued, supported and encouraged to be the best they can be.

“This award is testament to the special Group that Alcedo has become today and is recognition for everyone who works tirelessly to keep people safe and supported in their own homes. We have come so far in a short time but with the team we have built we have only scratched the surface of what we will achieve in the future.”

The accolade not only celebrates Alcedo Care’s commitment to staff development and wellbeing but also acknowledges its excellence as a leading provider of care services across the UK.

The Employer’s Excellence Awards recognise organisations that go above and beyond to create exceptional workplace environments. Alcedo Care’s recognition reflects its mission to raise standards within the care sector – both in the quality of service provided to clients and in how it nurtures its growing team.

As the care sector continues to face nationwide challenges, Alcedo Care’s success serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of compassionate leadership and investment in people.
