“Significant regeneration work” is underway at Southport Football Club, during a busy -and significant – summer for the club.
The Sandgrounders confirmed this week that David Cunningham and Kieran Malone have officially completed their takeover of the club.
It follows the appointment of Neil Danns and Mark Duffy as the new management team after a season which saw the side finish 18th in the National League North table following a disappointing campaign which was crowned by a stunning home victory against Kidderminster Harriers to stop them winning the title.
Southport FC Commercial manager Darren Court said: “There’s already a great deal happening at Southport Football Club this close season, driven by the vision of our new ownership team.
“We’ve had hugely positive discussions regarding a new academy partnership, which will run alongside our outstanding existing provision with Christ the King High School.
“Significant regeneration work is underway at Haig Avenue. We recognise that our bar and catering services didn’t always meet expectations last season — and we’re actively addressing that. Two brand-new, high-quality hospitality areas are currently being developed.
“In addition, the entire stadium is undergoing a complete electrical and data infrastructure upgrade to enhance our internet capabilities. This includes the installation of guest Wi-Fi for supporters.
“It’s a genuinely exciting time to be part of the Sangrounders journey.
“We have several unique sponsorship opportunities available, including naming rights for the stadium, main stand, and various paddocks around the terrace. Our new hospitality areas are also looking for naming partners.
“On the pitch, a new management team is assembling a young, ambitious, and energetic squad ready to compete in the National League North.
“Please feel free to get in touch if you or your organisation feel you’d like to join the journey.”
