The Southport Comedy Festival in association with Halliwell Jones BMW has announced yet another big name for this year’s 17 day event at Victoria Park.
Clinton Baptiste, the useless clairvoyant medium psychic from Peter Kay’s smash hit comedy Phoenix Nights will be bringing his show An Evening of Clinton Baptiste to the 12th annual festival.
Fresh from another sell-out UK tour, he’s back to deliver the best of his recent work, plus some new bits.
Join Clinton on Sunday 1st October for his stories, jokes plus demonstrations of his amazing ability – and as always he’ll be in the audience to give you truthful (but startling) readings from the spirit world! Not for the faint hearted.
Tickets for Clinton Baptiste go on sale on Monday 24th April 2023 at 10am.
Clinton Baptiste is the Alter-ego of Alex Lowe. A stage and screen performer, Lowe has been entertaining audiences for decades. From winning a First for his appearance in “The Hypochondriac” at the acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Lowe has had a meteoric rise to fame. Lowe has had a plethora of comedic turns on shows such as “The Big Impression,” “The 11 O’Clock Show” and “Pompidou.” Beyond the small screen, Lowe has starred in the iconic Branaugh led “Much Ado About Nothing,” “Haunted” and “Peter’s Friends.” And can be heard on Nickelodeon UK’s “Tinkershrimp & Dutch.” A natural comedian, Lowe has garnered a global audience for his witty and provocative performances.
Best known for his work as Clinton Baptiste, Lowe reprised the role in the popular “Clinton Baptiste’s Paranormal Podcast.” now in it’s 6th season. Matched with his regular guest spot as Baptiste on “The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X,” Lowe has brought the character lovingly back to life.
Clinton Baptiste is the fifth name to be announced for this year’s 17 day event which will be held once again in a luxury heated and seated marquee courtesy of Elite Marquees at Victoria Park. Irish funnymen and festival favourites Jason Byrne and Jimeoin, world-famous prankster and Lee Nelson creator Simon Brodkin and star of I’m a Celebrity Seann Walsh are already on sale with more exciting names to be announced in the next few days and weeks.
