The Met office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for Snow in the Southport area this Thursday and Friday (9th and 10th March 2023) with travel disruption expected on roads and on public transport.
The Met Office says: “Heavy snow has the potential to cause disruption on Thursday and Friday.”

The warning is in place from 7am on Thursday through to 2pm on Friday.

A Merseyrail spokesperson said: “The Met Office has issued a weather warning for cold and snowy temperatures overnight.
“Passengers are advised that disruption on the morning of Thursday 9 March is likely.
“Passengers should check before travelling, using the Merseyrail website, app or Twitter feed.”
The heaviest snowfalls are predicted to fall in the centre of the north of England, with an Amber Weather Warning for Snow forecast for the Pennines area and parts of east Lancashire and west Yorkshire.
