Meols Cop High School and Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust are collaborating to offer students an innovative programme of opportunities to explore careers in the healthcare sector. The aim of the collaboration is to support recruitment and retention strategies in the NHS and give students an insight into the vast and varied number of career opportunities available to them.
The partnership will offer students the chance to work with professionals from different departments of the hospital, including nursing, health care assistants, radiology and finance. Through interactive sessions and work experience opportunities, students will gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience of what it takes to work in the healthcare sector, including the essential skills required for each role.
The collaboration is a great way to expose students to a range of healthcare professions and help them develop the skills they need to succeed in these roles. The program will also help address the skills gap in the NHS, which has been exacerbated by the ongoing pandemic.
