The Headteacher of Tarleton Community Primary School has been awarded an Order of the British Empire (0BE) in the New Year’s Honours List.
Christan Upton was deservedly recognised for his services to education.
A school spokesperson said: “Wonderful news. Mr Upton is honoured to have been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2023 New Year Honours List for services to Education by King Charles III.
“As a school community, we are delighted for him and thank him for all his hard work and support especially through the tough times.
“Congratulations Mr Upton OBE!”
Parents, staff and local people were quick to offer their congratulations.
Writing on the Tarleton Community Primary School Facebook page, Julie Hoolie said: “So well deserved! Congratulations and thank you for the difference you are making to education.”
