A Level maths and further maths students at KGV Sixth Form College have once again taken part in the annual Senior Maths Challenge, which is a national competition open to members of the UK Mathematics Trust.
The competition requires students to use mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems and is designed to make students think.
A KGV spokesperson said: “The results are now in and we are very proud of this year’s KGV entrants who have done extremely well. What’s more, six of them achieved Gold and were then invited to take part in the prestigious Kangaroo Challenge, with KGV student Ethan Grocott being awarded a further Merit for this element and finishing in the top 25% of the entire competition.
“Massive congratulations to the whole team, Ethan Grocott, James Davies, Robbie Amy, Ben Bowman, James Carragher, Erin Lovegrove , Nicholas Rimmer, Austin Todd, Caitlin Gower , Adam Kelty, Berty Pemberton, Alex Pethard, Josh Stevens, Jack Westby and Katie Withers.” They are pictured here receiving their certificates.
KGV Sixth Form College offers both A Level maths and further maths and applications for September 2023 are open now.
