September 8, 2022 changed the world forever. With the sad news of Queen Elizabeth II passing the country went into mourning. Everyone at the RSPCA joins the nation as we share their sadness.
The Queen was our Monarch and Patron for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Animal Cruelty. During her 70 year reign The Queen was well known for her love of animals and particularly her beloved dogs. We have all seen the photos with her Corgis and Labradors, along with many other animals that she so dearly loved.
The National RSPCA has released in their statement looking ahead to 2024 that they will be awarding a new award in The Queen’s name to honour those who have made a huge contribution to animal welfare. We look forward to sharing this with you at the time.
We now welcome a new era with King Charles III and wish him well in his future.
As the sad news broke only a few days before our planned summer fair we made the difficult decision to cancel the event.
We apologise to those who wished to come, and for anyone who didn’t see our notices.
We felt this was the right thing do as our staff and volunteers mourned along with the whole nation.
We are now looking forward to our Christmas Fair, which will be held on Sunday, December 4 at Southport & Birkdale Sports Club, Trafalgar Road, Birkdale, PR8 2HF.
We have lots planned for the day including a mega Christmas raffle, Santa visit, Christmas games, tea and cake sales, stalls, tombola plus lots more.
Free parking is available on site, and new for this year free entry into the fair! Southport & Birkdale Sports Club will have their licensed bar open to the public, as well as serving hot main meals.
We hope to make this year’s Christmas Fair bigger and better than ever before.
All money raised from the fair goes directly back into the day to day funding of the Animal Centre (money spent at the bar and on hot meals goes to the club).
We hope you all will be able to join us for lots of festive fun and help us raise lots of money for all the cats and dogs that come into our care.
We are now taking bookings for any businesses that would like a stall at the fair.
Tables are £20 (paid via PayPal) if you are interested please send an email to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk with your name of business and products you plan to sell.
Our Manager will then be in contact to book you in. We will release more details for our Christmas fair as we get nearer the date.
