Olivia Hersey, a student at KGV Sixth Form College in Southport, beams with delight as she celebrates being an awarded an impressive 3 A* grades in her A-Levels.
She is now looking forward to taking up her place to study at Oxford University.
Olivia was among young people at KGV who enjoyed a wonderful celebration at the College, on Scarisbrick New Road in Southport, on Tuesday morning.
An incredible 99% of the KGV Sixth Form College class of 2021 have been accepted at their first choice university.
Southport MP Damien Moore joined Principal and CEO Michelle Brabner at the College in congratulating the students on their achievements.
After the challenges education has faced during the pandemic, it is fantastic to see KGV students achieve excellent A-Level grades yet again.
Success was not limited to A-levels, as the students studying vocational qualifications also received excellent results for their BTEC Advanced Level Extended Diplomas, equivalent to three A-Levels.

King George V Sixth Form College Principal Michelle Brabner said:
“Our results were really excellent, giving our students the opportunity for fantastic progression.
“We are delighted to report that following Tuesday’s results, 99% of our class of 2021 have been accepted at their first choice university, which is absolutely fantastic.
“We are so proud of all our students and their individual achievements. The excellent A-Level results reflect the determination and hard work of KGV students and staff.
“Equally, our BTEC students have excelled themselves, securing very impressive high grades. “The class of 2021 faced challenges, and are a credit to the College, their families and Southport.
“Our students have achieved such excellent results. They will be progressing onto some of the UK’s top universities, including Oxford, studying courses such as medicine, law, and veterinary science.
“We are so very proud of everything they have achieved here at KGV Sixth Form, and we wish them every success for their future.”

The College is currently enrolling new students for September online. From this Thursday, enrolment will also be taking place at the KGV Sixth Form campus on Scarisbrick New Road.
