Food lovers can enjoy a sausage and cider festival in Southport this June!
It adds to a range of exciting new events for this town this year with UB40 coming in July, the British Musical Firework Championship in September, Southport Comedy Festival in October and the brand new Spectacular Light Trail in November and December.
The Sausage and Cider Festival is billed as “the UK’s biggest food, drink, and music festival” and will take place at Victoria Park in Southport on Friday, 25th June.
The food and drink showcase promises to be a “spectacular day of festival fun with live music, games, competitions, and lots of sausage and cider to kick start the summer after a long lockdown!”
Southport singer Kelly Bond has been announced as the first musical act for the festival.
She will be opening for The Lilacs, a local group.
Kelly will be joined by dancers from Feel Fabulous – a movement founded by Southport model and dancer Lizzie Fitzpatrick, aimed at helping people of all shapes and sizes gain confidence and feel beautiful.
She said: “I was due to be one of the hosts at Southport Flower Show this August, which has unfortunately been cancelled this year.
“Hopefully though, this new Sausage and Cider Festival and others taking place will keep Victoria Park warm until we can have bigger events again, and can signal the beginning of things reopening and normality resuming.
“It will be so good to celebrate Southport again after so many long months.”
