An organisation which provides support services to bereaved parents of baby and infant loss has been awarded £10,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund.
The funding will allow Lighthouses Therapy Services, which is based in Southport, to continue providing its vital services to families within the Merseyside and Lancashire area.
Lighthouses was established by Director Nadine Baynes in 2015.
The non-profit body provides retreat and counselling services for those who have been through stillbirth, miscarriage, neonatal loss, ectopic pregnancy and compassionate induction.
Nadine Baynes said: “We are here to offer support to those who have been through miscarriage, still-birth, neonatal death, SIDS, ectopic and molar pregnancy and for those who need support, post-termination.
“For women, men, couples and grandparents just like you who are hurting and feel that no-one understands the deep psychological pain you are experiencing, we are here.”
Nadine is a qualified Transpersonal Psychotherapist and Accredited Member of the National
Council of Psychotherapists, who, working with a team of other qualified professionals, specialises in helping people find peace, confidence, forgiveness and happiness.
Nadine said: “We are happy that we have been able to continue supporting parents of baby loss during the pandemic, by moving our services online.
“We are grateful to the Community Lottery Fund for their support.”
Lighthouses won an award at the Butterfly Awards in 2019 as Best UK Support Organisation.
