Movie-goers can enjoy some of the most iconic Christmas films of all time at the Bijou Cinema in Southport this December.
The venue has revealed its festive schedule, which includes classics for children and families including: White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence, The Polar Express, Die Hard and Home Alone.
Christmas Eve will see screenings of Elf (2.30pm) and Love Actually (7.30pm).
Bijou Cinema, situated on Post Office Avenue, has been required to close during the November lockdown,
But it is looking to reopen on Wednesday, 2 December with a bang, with special screenings of Laurel and Hardy Laughing ‘20s (2.30pm) and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (7.30pm).
There is a packed schedule of movies planned throughout December with lots more than festive favourites.
Others on the bill include The War Of The Worlds versions from both 1953 and 2005 (Saturday 5 December).

Nunkie Theatre presents live performances of Canon Alberic’s Scrapbook on Wednesday 9 December and The Residence At Whitminster on Wednesday 16 December.
Bijou Cinema Southport, which opened last year in the former Latin Lounge building on Post Office Avenue in Southport town centre, is run by a volunteer-led and not-for-profit Community Interest Company.
Visitors can enjoy a mixture of new, old, classic and indie films.
Bijou brings cinema to the people of Southport with matinees and evening films include classics old and new, independent films not shown at multiplexes, and dynamic world cinema.
Guests are invited to write their film and arts events requests on the chalkboard in the cafe / bar, as they listen to all recommendations for future programming!.
Adjacent to the cafe / bar is the Cinema – a raked auditorium with comfortable seats and an Optoma 8,000-lumens projector, plus 5.1 Surround Sound speakers to present an immersive cinematic experience. There are two wheelchairs spaces available, as well as an induction loop system installed.
Upstairs, on the first floor, is an open space for events and parties known as The Lounge. It has a new multi-lighting system with comfortable sofas and easy chairs. Also upstairs is the Media Room for talks, films, or to just chill-out and watch the HDTV.
