Students at Stanley High in Marshside in Southport have been welcomed back to school to celebrate their GCSE results with teaching staff.
The Year 11 pupils overcame a turbulent few months, which saw their studies disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic hitting the UK in March and sending the country into lockdown.
But through online learning and hard work over the years they managed to overcome the challenges facing them.
Stanley High School Headteacher Neil Moore said: “It has been a very difficult time for everyone, especially for our Year 11 students who have been faced with uncertainty following school closures in March.
“I was delighted we could welcome back students to collect their examination results in a safe environment and allow them to celebrate with our senior staff.
“Their results reflect the aspiration, resilience and conscientiousness our students have demonstrated each day during their time at Stanley High School.
“We wish them all the very best for the next stages of their education and I am incredibly proud of the young people leaving us who can excel and succeed in their chosen careers.”
