Southport shrimper to feature on foodie TV show Pizza Boys

One of Southport’s last remaining Shrimpers, Christian Peet, is set to feature on this coming Monday’s episode of ‘Pizza Boys’. 

In this latest series, the Pizza Boys from Wales, set about creating tantalising pizzas, using local ingredients from countries involved in the six nations rugby tournament.

In this forthcoming episode the Pizza Boys visit Liverpool, using Southport’s famous brown shrimp as one of the main toppings! 

Christian, who established Southport Seafoods in 1992, still operates his business, from Shellfield Road in Marshside.

Christian said of the Pizza Boys: “They came out on the beach with me to take in the whole process, which also involved potting the shrimps back at our premises. 

“They really enjoyed themselves and stayed for a celebratory pint in my own home bar, ‘The Shankers Inn’.”

The show which is to be aired this Monday 20th, can be viewed on S4C or via the BBC iPlayer with subtitles available.
