Southport BID feature by Andrew Brown Stand Up For Southport
Visitors to Southport Flower Show will be able to enjoy the first ever Waterstones Pop-Up Book Festival.
The team from Waterstones bookshop, on Chapel Street in Southport town centre, will be on hand at Victoria Park with a wide selection of books on sale as well as the chance to meet some amazing celebrity authors from Thursday 14th August through to Sunday 17th August 2025.
Southport Flower Show and Victoria Park Events General manager Alan Adams said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Waterstones to this year’s Southport Flower Show, bringing an exciting line-up of celebrity authors for signings and meet and greets.
“You’ll find the Waterstones marquee next to the Summer Pavilion – the perfect spot to pick up your next great read and meet the people behind the pages!”
Waterstones Southport Manager Ed Lamb said:
“We are really excited to be taking our Waterstones Pop-Up Book Festival to the Southport Flower Show for the first time!
“We have been among venues selling discount tickets to Southport residents ahead of the Show, and we’ve had a fantastic response.
“We will be at Victoria Park for all four days with a wide selection of books about gardening, nature, cookery, and lots of children’s books too, perfect for such a popular family event.
“I have not been to Southport Flower Show personally before, so I am 100% looking forward to it.
“It is such a massive event in the Southport calendar and a huge privilege for us to be a part of it this year.”

Friday 15th August

12:30pm – 1:30pm: Gemma Longworth
Saturday 16th August
3:00pm – 3:45pm: Nick Bailey
1:00pm – 1:45pm: Nancy Birtwhistle
1:45pm – 2:30pm: Hamza Yassin
Southport Flower Show is at Victoria Park, Southport, PR8 2BZ from Thursday, 14th August to Sunday, 17th August 2025.
Expect to see some familiar faces as celebrity guests, such as Children’s TV favourite Justin Fletcher; Kelvin and Liz Fletcher from ITV’s Fletchers’ Family Farm; gardening experts David Domoney, Carole and George from Beechgrove Garden and Nick Bailey; TV chefs and presenters Rosemary Shrager, Phil Vickery and Cherish Finden; plus Zack George aka Steel from Gladiators.
Children under 16 go FREE with a paying adult.
