Ukrainian Day celebrations to fill three floors at The Atkinson in Southport as timings of what’s on unveiled

Shoppers enjoyed a celebration of Ukrainian culture at the International Peace Day event at Wayfarers Shopping Arcade on Lord Street in Southport. Nina Karetska and Vita Maglevana

The line up of free events has been unveiled for the Ukrainian Day celebrations at The Atkinson in Southport this Saturday (22nd February 2025). 

There will be lots to enjoy across three floors of The Atkinson between 11am and 3pm. 

Free, just drop in. 

The line-up includes:  

The Foyer, Ground Floor
11:10 am: Ukrainian choir performance
11:30 am: Drawing a large paint-by-numbers picture

Studio, 1st Floor
11:30 am – 1:00 pm: Coffee morning in the studio.
3:00 pm – 3:45 pm: ‘Voices of Hope’ film showing.

Museum, Discovery Box, 2nd Floor
11:00 am – 4:00 pm: Exhibition “Through The Eyes Of The First Day”
1:00 pm: Wreath-making workshop
2:00 pm: Thread horse dolls workshop

Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Ukrainian culture with a captivating day of events at The Atkinson. 

There will be a coffee morning, a choir performance, craft workshops and traditional dress alongside a community exhibition where you can find out more about Ukrainian culture.
