Thousands of hungry visitors flocked to town to enjoy the 2023 Southport Food and Drink Festival, on the hottest weekend of the year.
People have given their verdicts on the free, three-day foodie festival which took place at Victoria Park in Southport from Friday to Sunday 2nd-4th June 2023.
Families tried food and drink from around the world, with cuisines including Caribbean, Greek, Cypriot, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Polish, Spanish, French, Italian, and more.
There were lots of local Southport food and drink businesses represented, including Pitamu, 600 Degrees, Nanny Pearl’s, Beer Inn, Tik Taco, House of Ivy, Parker Brewery, Cake Corner, Bar Crumble, Allotment, Elite Bars, Parkinson’s and others.

The event was organised by Sefton Council.
Visitors enjoyed three days of live entertainment hosted by Simon Smithies.
There was lots for children to enjoy, with zorbs, inflatables, an inflatable assault course and more from Bouncy Castle Parade in Southport.
They could also call into the kids’ marquee, with lots of crafts to have a go at plus entertainment from performers including Babyballet, Mr Stix and others.

Speaking in the Stand Up For Southport Facebook group, Steve Tachaeur said: “Terrific, even better than last year.”
Liz Davies said: “Huge this year – fantastic range of food and drink! Lovely to see it so busy.”
Hannah Fisher said: “First time we’ve been and we loved it! Can’t wait to go again next year!”

Ged Wright said: “Fantastic event , huge this year. Well done to Sefton for organising this free festival, one of the three major events that they organise in the borough, all of them in Southport.”
Sandra Murphy said: “Fantastic free event, huge range of food and drink. Great music and the atmosphere was lovely. Weather was perfect too. Get yourself down there, not to be missed.”

Rhian Loffarelli said: “Thought it was better laid out this year and flowed better from stalls selling things to food and drink to eat there, it just seemed better laid out. Fab weather again and had food and drink and sat listening to music and also bought some goodies to bring home. Love coming every year.”
Ian Hill said: “The stalls selling goods and those selling food were better set out. I think there were at least twice as many vendors as I have ever seen and the range of food available was excellent. Well done to all those involved in making this happen.”
