Customers, musicians and artists have been thanked after The Fool in Southport town centre announced its closure.
The venue opened in November last year to bring together music, immersive theatre and dining experiences alongside a range of creative arts programs for all ages.
It was situated in the former Firepit restaurant (previously The warehouse restaurant), under the Werksy co-working offices on West Street.
The innovative arts venue is operated by Ginificent, a renowned theatre production company, which was established in 1999.
They wanted to open a haven for creativity; where music, theatre, and art unite to ignite the senses and spark the imagination.
The owners said: “A Farewell from The Fool x
“The curtain falls, but what a show it’s been.
“We took our leap, hearts wide, and for however brief, we sparkled. A stage for dreams, a home for voices daring and bright. But even the grandest stories have their final acts, and ours must close – too soon, yet not without a symphony of gratitude.
”To those who stepped through our doors: thank you. To the artists who lit up our nights, turning wood and wire into magic: thank you. You reminded us why we leapt at all.
”This is not an ending, only an unplanned intermission. The arts will always be a gamble, and though the house did not win, we leave richer for having played.
“For now, The Fool cannot keep its doors open – but it will linger in pop-ups, in whispers of what was and flashes of what might still be.
“Keep dreaming. Keep playing. The journey does not end here.
“To our ticket holders: watch for word soon. We’re working to relocate what we can, and refund what we cannot. The show, one way or another, must go on.”
