Tapper’s Cafe in Southport is looking forward to celebrating its 13th birthday on St George’s Day next weekend.

The popular venture, on the corner of Union Street and Castle Street, opened its doors in April 2010.

Since then it has built its reputation on great home-cooked food and excellent service.

Business co-owner Catherine Tapper said: “I can’t believe I’m saying this but on St George’s Day Sunday 23rd April, we will be celebrating 13 years in business

“Wow it’s been a rollercoaster, navigating through the highs and the lows – it has been fun and challenging that’s for sure.

“I absolutely love our location on Union Street which has seen so many changes over the years but now it is such an amazing, thriving street packed full of awesome businesses and a great community.

“I’ve had some amazing team members over the years and my current gang are just the best. “I’ve met some magical customers and some are now the best of friends

“I’m proud to use local suppliers as much as possible even more so in these tough economic times.

“When I think back to 2010 I faced a lot of negativity and was told we were doomed to fail – I was given six months by a certain someone who I don’t let forget!#

“To be fair, the negativity gave me extra drive to succeed so bring it on.

“I encourage anyone to follow their dreams and I’m happy to help anyone who needs it.

“We’re open as usual next Sunday 23rd April 10am-4pm, it would be lovely to see friends, family, customers old and new to come and enjoy a cupcake or a little glass of fizz with us.”
