Southport will see its biggest ever bubble blowing event later today as people ‘blow kisses to heaven’ in memory of the three girls who tragically died, and all those who were injured, at a Taylor Swift dance and yoga event last week.

The Swifties Bubble Blow – Kisses To Heaven event will take place from 6pm today (Monday, 5th August 2024) outside The Atkinson on Lord Street in Southport.

Families are invited to come together and release bubbles in memory of the three girls who were killed:  Bebe King, six; Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven; and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine. Several other girls and adults were horrifically injured.

People of all ages are welcome to take a moment to remember the girls and their smiles as crowds blow bubbles and ‘send kisses to heaven’.

Anyone coming is invited to bring their own bubbles.

Event organiser Kylie Clift said: “I organised this event as I feel a great importance in our children being able to grieve too.

“They can express so much emotion through fun yet sensitive activities, like bubble blowing!

“I have been donated hundreds of bubbles from various local shops, arcades, charities and even from families of the victims themselves.

“There will be time to take a moment and remember those we’ve lost and those who still continue to fight.

“We have the amazing Wendy Chalke singing a heartfelt song whilst we all come together as a community and blow as many bubbles as we can, blowing them ‘kisses’ to heaven!”
