Stunning outdoor paintings which have been created across Southport by a talented local artist will go on display this February.
The brilliant ‘Nasro Mo’, whose real name is Mohamed Benbrahim, has become a familiar sight across the area as takes his canvas and his brushes and captures the beauty of Southport with his plein air style artwork.
You will be able to see some of his extensive work in the new ‘Southport Plein Air Paintings’, a Nasro Mo solo exhibition, at the ArtHouse, on Eastbank Street in Southport town centre, PR8 1EJ from Tuesday, 10th February 2026 through until Saturday, 28th February 2026.

The exhibition is open Tuesday to Friday 10am-3pm and Saturday 11am-4pm.
An ArtHouse Southport spokesperson said:
“We are happy to announce our first solo exhibition for 2026, ‘Southport plein air paintings’ by local artist Nasro Mo.
“The exhibition will display a series of Southport paintings painted in plein air featuring different locations within the town.

“The artist will be present on Saturday, 14th February for a special meet the artist event! “Everyone is welcome to pop into the gallery and query the artistic practice behind the exhibition.”
Nasro Mo said:
“I feel very excited to exhibit my plein air paintings of Southport!
“I started working on this exhibition in the beginning of Autumn last year.

“I am looking forward for Southport residents of all ages to view my paintings live, especially those who grew up in Southport.
“I will be present on Saturday 14th February for a Meet the Artist session, for anyone who would like to chat about my work.”
Nasro Mo began posting pencil sketches of scenes around Southport in May 2024, which he posted regularly through the Stand Up For Southport Facebook group.

Since then he has developed his skills with a series of stunning paintings.
In August last year, he was enjoying painting throughout the 2025 Southport Flower Show at Victoria Park in Southport.
Since then, other scenes he has painted include: Churchtown Village, Hesketh Park; the Botanic Gardens; the Marine Lake and Kings Gardens; Silcock’s Funland and Carousel; Southport Pier and Southport Beach; Lord Street; Wayfarers Arcade; Southport Air Show and more.

He has also painted scenes in Liverpool and West Lancashire, including the Albert Dock in Liverpool, Ormskirk town centre, Formby Village, and Stanley Park in Blackpool.
Nasro Mo said:
“Southport has always been a frequent subject for my paintings. I find its beautiful places, streets, and alleys fascinating, whether it’s sunny or rainy.
“As a plein-air painter, I enjoy capturing the different colors in nature and people stopping by to look at the scenes I’m painting.
“I like to capture everyday life, busy streets, dog walkers, and people going about their daily routines.

“Since Southport is my home town, I would like to introduce ‘Southport plein air painting series’ showing its various places, streets, and parks.
“It’s always a joy to show Southport through my artistic vision.”
Two years ago, Nasro Mo sketched predominately in ink pens on an A4 canvas due to timings with work.
Since then, he has expanded his portfolio to include colourful and detailed oil and watercolour paintings.
He said: “I think oil painting is the art of the masters and it has been known worldwide and historically as well.
“People do appreciate it more when they see an oil painting as they know it needs skills and an understanding of colours, values and brushstrokes.
“I prefer oil painting because now I fully engage with it.
“Recently I’ve started doing plein air painting where I paint outdoors just to give me more understanding of the real colours that are in nature.

“Oil painting needs time, sometimes mood, but the key is just to paint whatever comes to mind.
“People are loving my oil paintings and they can see my dedication and effort that I am putting into art because they do believe in my skills and talent, and I thank everyone for their support.
“I am open for any commissions and any kind of exhibition or even a workshop.”
Mohamed, or Nasro Mo, posts all his artwork on his Nasro Mo Facebook page and also on his nasro.mo.art Instagram page and can be contacted for any enquiries or sales.
