Lynn Brown has been a familiar face at Queenscourt Hospice’s annual Star Trekk night walk for many years.
Having taken part in an incredible 17 Trekks so far, she’s now preparing to take part once again to break a Queenscourt record with the most number of participants to ever take part.
This year’s Star Trekk takes place in Southport on Friday 8th May 2026 with people invited to sign up here: Star Trekk 2026 – Queenscourt Hospice
Lynn’s connection to Queenscourt is deeply personal. In 2013, Lynn’s parents, tragically passed away just months apart. Both received care from the hospice, a time that was incredibly difficult for her family.

“It was devastating losing both mum and dad so close together,” she says. “They deserved the best possible care, which is what they got from Queenscourt. Nothing was too much trouble.”
Despite this, Lynn found strength and purpose through supporting the hospice, with Star Trekk becoming a meaningful way to give back. What stands out most to her over the years is the sheer dedication of those who take part.
“The number of people who turn up in the sun, rain or hail is amazing.” Lynn said

The event is also full of joy and memorable moments. Lynn fondly recalls the lively atmosphere, from energetic warm-ups led by Keep Fit groups dancing on the back of a lorry. To the unforgettable time her group of Trekkers were warming up, only to turn around and realise the rest of the Trekkers had already set off without them.
In addition to her personal fundraising efforts, Lynn also played a key role in raising an incredible £10,500 alongside her colleagues at the Tesco superstore in Kew in 2016, further supporting the hospice that means so much to her.

For anyone considering taking part in Star Trekk, Lynn has a simple message:
“Just do it. It’s for an amazing cause. It’s a fun night, the atmosphere is incredible, and raising money for Queenscourt is so important.”
Through every step she takes, Lynn continues to honour her parents’ memory, while helping to ensure that others receive the same exceptional compassionate care, when they need it the most.
