Southport Slimming World members continue to shine and have once again shown that community support is at the very heart of everything Slimming World does.
Following the festive season, members across local groups took part in their annual New Year Amnesty, donating unwanted Christmas chocolates, biscuits, bottles, gifts and more raising over £1,500 for Queenscourt Hospice from this single initiative alone.
Kelly, Slimming World Consultant for Ainsdale and Marshside, said:
“The generosity, kindness and love shown by our members is incredible. It’s proof that the support found in our groups reaches so much further than group itself – it touches hearts right in our local community.”
Nicola, Slimming World Consultant for Kew and Marshside, said:
“I am so proud of our members. Their willingness to give, support one another and help such an important local charity really shows what Slimming World is all about. Love, care and support”
Queenscourt Hospice holds a special place in the hearts of local Slimming World consultants, members, and their friends and families. It is a privilege to continue supporting Queenscourt’s fundraising, helping to raise much-needed funds so they can provide dignity, comfort and care to people in our community, often during the darkest times.
Steph, also a local Slimming World Consultant who has supported Queenscourt fundraising for many years, said:
“Queenscourt is incredibly special to so many of us. Almost everyone has been touched by the care and compassion they provide, whether for a loved one, a friend or someone in the wider community. Supporting Queenscourt feels very personal, and it’s an honour to be able to give something back.”
While the New Year Amnesty alone raised over £1,500, local Slimming World groups continue to support Queenscourt throughout the year with charity nights, sponsored events such as the Star Trek Walk, pre-loved clothes sales — and even throwing themselves out of a perfectly good aeroplane!
This is Slimming World at its very best: a community where weight loss, generosity, compassion and kindness go hand in hand.
