Southport Rugby Football Club is hosting a reunion for people who played for the club during the 1950s and 1960s.

The event will take place on Saturday, 12th November 2022, as part of the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

It will be a great opportunity to meet old friends over a beer and complimentary pre-match hospitality.

A bottle of champagne is up for grabs for the person who played at the earliest date for the club. The First XV will be playing Bolton on that day – another 1872 side – so they will also be celebrating their 150 years. The game will kick off at 2.15pm.

Stuart Fletcher, the Southport RFC Captain during the 1969/70 season, said: “All are welcome, the more people we can get there the better.

“If you would like to come to the lunch, please could you please get in touch.

“Alternatively please try to attend the game and you can join the 1950s and 1960s crowd.”
