Wayfarers Arcade paid partnership
Claire Kelly, the owner of Southport Piano Academy, is launching free children’s music sessions inside Wayfarers Arcade in Southport town centre.
Claire donated a Wayfarers Community Piano – her Yamaha baby grand piano – for the people of Southport to enjoy at Wayfarers Arcade earlier this summer.
The official unveiling took place on Sunday 5th July 2026 as Claire was joined by Mayor of Sefton Cllr Jen Corcoran, Southport MP Patrick Hurley and Southport Town Crier Kevin Ruane MBE.
Her new music sessions for children are suitable for youngsters aged 6-11 and based inside Wayfarers Arcade, which is situated at the heart of Lord Street in Southport town centre.
Claire Kelly said: “I’m so excited to finally announce the dates!
“I’m delighted to be launching my FREE Children’s Music Sessions this summer in The Junction unit at Wayfarers Arcade, next to the Wayfarers Community Performance Piano on the right as you walk in.
“These fun one-hour sessions are based on my brand new children’s music course, which I’ve been writing over the past five years and is due to be published soon.
“This is suitable from age 6 to 11.”
Children will enjoy:
- Learning to read music
- Rhythm games and musical activities
- Exploring percussion instruments and tapping out rhythms
- Fun theory worksheets from the new course
- Having a go on keyboards
- The sessions are led by experienced teachers from Southport Piano Academy with two or three DBS-checked teachers in every session, with a maximum of 10 children per class, ensuring everyone receives plenty of individual attention.

Friday 31st July 2026:
11:00am to 12:00pm
12:00pm to 1:00pm
1:00pm to 2:00pm
Saturday 1st August:
12:00pm to 1:00pm
1:00pm to 2:00pm
Claire said: “The sessions are completely FREE, with voluntary donations welcomed for Queenscourt Hospice.
“Places are limited to 10 children per session, so pre-booking is recommended. If there are spaces available, we’ll also welcome children who turn up on the day.
“Parents are welcome to drop their children off, enjoy a coffee or browse the wonderful shops in Wayfarers Arcade, then return an hour later to collect them.
“I honestly can’t wait to welcome your children and share the joy of music with them. I have a feeling these sessions are going to be so much fun!
