Southport Piano Academy won four first places in the piano solos at the Southport Music Festival

Southport Piano Academy won four first places in the piano solos at the Southport Music Festival. 

The Academy won the under 13s – category with Joshua Gadsby (Grade 4) taught by Claire Kelly DipLCM, and the under 14s in piano solos with Shane Fonseka (Grade 6) also taught by Claire Kelly,  and first place in the under 16s with a new composition by Dylan Capie Witterick (Grade 6) who has been taught by Claire since age 7.

Furthermore, Joe Bloom,18 years old, who is a young teacher for the academy, got first place in the Sunday morning solo piano Instrumental and composition performance.

The Academy also won second place in the under 10s with Poppy Bedwell, and Second place in under 11s with Samuel Lindsay. Daisy Capie Witterick, who has had some vocal lessons with The Academy with Cassandra Kotchie also got a second place in her vocal solo of Adele, All I Ask.

Southport Piano Academy students have just raised £350 with their sponsored September practice and are now organising their Christmas charity show.
