Southport has been recognised as one of the happiest places to live in the North West – and the best place to be in the Liverpool City Region.
Southport has just been honoured as Rightmove revealed the ‘happiest’ places to live for 2024 after surveying tens of thousands of people across the UK.
Our town was top in Merseyside, sixth in the North West and 51st nationally.
The annual Happy at Home survey asked 35,000 people how they feel about where they live based on 13 happiness factors. The results show the happiest residents lived in a rural location, near to woodlands or a National Park.
This is lots happening in Southport to bring festive cheer to families this December, with attractions including an ice skating rink at Victoria Park; a Gingerbread Trail in Southport town centre; a sparkling 60 ft Christmas tree, an illuminated Bear and Reindeer and lights along Lord Street; and Santa’s Grotto inside Wayfarers Shopping Arcade.
Southport has a wonderful sense of community, with people showing remarkable kindness in looking out for one another.
