Southport Hesketh Round Table has thanked the organisers of a local event for donating £1,000 to support their fundraising for the families affected by the Southport tragedy last year.
Tablers have now raised over £200,000 after setting up their appeal last summer, with every penny raised going directly towards the families.

The volunteers are now gearing up for their next big fundraising event – the unmissable Charity Match taking place at Southport Football Club this Sunday (3rd August 2025).
Marc Foreman from Southport Hesketh Round Table said: “Last week we were invited to meet some lovely chaps at Victoria Park and accept a cheque for the families affected by what happened in July last year.
“A special thank you to Dave Asbridge and Billy, who raised and donated £1,000 from last year’s car boot sale parking. Their support means the world.
“This weekend (Saturday 2nd August and Sunday 3rd August 2025), they’re hosting Antiques in the Park at Victoria Park, Southport – another brilliant community event that shows how compassion and unity continue to shine through.
“The money raised is helping families create new memories and begin to heal.
“We’re also working with Southport Football Club on a Soccer Aid style celebrity match this Sunday (3rd August 2025) – tickets are available via their website here: http://bit.ly/3UvTzq3
