Guest Blog by Southport Hesketh Round Table
Southport Hesketh Round Table would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped, donated, volunteered, and supported the 2025 Santa Float.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Southport community, this year’s float raised over £9,000 for local charities and community projects during 15 magical nights in December.
This year also saw the launch of our brand-new Santa sleigh, made possible through the amazing support of EFT Group.
With their help, our volunteers were able to visit more locations than ever before, including two hospitals and a number of smaller pop‑up events, bringing festive joy to families across the town.
More Routes, More Smiles
Honorary Table Member Marc Foreman shared how the team worked hard to make this the biggest route map yet:
“The Team tweaked some of our routes to ensure more streets were visited than ever before. That was quite difficult considering we try to start at 6:30pm every evening, as most of us have day jobs and some struggle to get back to Southport for this time.

“There were a few nights we were still out at 8:30pm, which is unheard of for us. However, the families and kids always come first. It’s always a challenge to go slow enough so everyone gets to see Santa, but not so fast that the sleigh disappears in a flash.”
Thank You to Our Evening Charity Partners
We were supported by an amazing group of organisations throughout December, including 15th Ainsdale Brownies, Paymentshield (Elsie’s Story), Queenscourt Hospice, YCP, Southport Lions and the Holy Trinity Choir, Rainbow Hub, Home Start, FC Sandgrounders, Funky Monkeys, Compassionate Acts, Southport Swim Club, and the Uniform Hub. We are truly grateful to every organisation and volunteer who joined us along the way.
Jordan Shandley, Table Chairman, said:
“Huge thanks to EFT again for the help on the new sleigh, Resonates Media for the sleigh campaign videos, Massams for the Truck Christmas Tree and especially Chris and Sue Shaw, who drive the truck and give up their own time on the cold dark evenings in December.
“And of course, a big thank you to everyone else not mentioned here, you know who you are.”

What’s Next? Social Events Return – Starting with Fencing!
After a well‑earned festive break, the guys are jumping straight back into socials. Our first meet‑up is on Thursday 22nd January 2026: Fencing at the YMCA.
If you’re a guy aged 18–41 and fancy a night meeting a great group of local lads while trying something completely different like fencing, get in touch via our social pages or email links below. New faces are always welcome.
Jordan said: “We will also have a stand at the Mad Dog 10K run this February. Although we no longer manage the event, we are incredibly proud that HS Sports has taken it on to honour the race and keep it alive in our town. So, come to the stand and hear more about what we do and how to join in.”

Thanks for the 2025 Big Charity Collaborations
We’ve got exciting plans for new community events and partnerships this year, but we want to give a huge thank you to Serena Silcock Prince from Silcock Leisure for the success of our 2025 Oktoberfest collaboration, and to Dave and Kieran Malone from Southport Football Club for leading the incredible Charity Celebrity Football Match.
The event featured brilliant talents including James Nelson‑Joyce, Dylan Thomas‑Smith, Gary Barker, and our very own Sergio and David from Alice’s Wonderdance and Elsie’s Story.
This amazing fundraiser helped push total donations to over £250,000 for the families directly affected by the tragic events in Southport in July 2025.
