People are invited to enjoy a trip back in time with beautifully restored classic buses operating free routes around Southport.
Southport Heritage Running Day 2025 will take place on Mother’s Day (Sunday 30th March 2025).
Between 10.30am and 5pm, people will be able to jump on board buses operated by the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust from the former Floral Hall / Southport Theatre site on the Promenade.
The day is aiming to raise money for the Elsie’s Story charity through donations.
Bus passengers can also buy a special full colour programme and vehicle working diagram on the day for £5.
Volunteers from the Trust spoke about their plans when Kevin Duala and the BBC Radio Merseyside team broadcast their Breakfast show from Southport Community Centre last Friday – and they even brought along one of their vintage buses!

Event co-organiser James Rowlands said: “Sunday sees the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust operate a network of routes around Southport using our vintage buses.
“The buses are free to ride on but any donations made on the day will go to the Elsie’s Story charity.
“Buses depart regularly from the Floral Hall from 10am onwards, with very frequent links to Southport Railway Station.
“Come and ride on our history and support such a fantastic cause.
“We look forward to seeing you there.”
