Southport Football Club has launched a new Southport FC Lottery.

Each entry wins the chance of winning up to £25,000!

Profits raised through the Lottery will be split between the Southport FC Former Players Association and Southport FC Juniors.

A Southport FC Former Players Association spokesperson said: “2020 was a tough year for everyone, but for football clubs, and societies like ourselves this has been made more difficult through the pandemic by not having fans able to attend games.

“We (The Southport FC Former Players Association) spoke to the club and asked how we could do our bit to support the ongoing work of the Football Club in the community, and we are excited to be able to announce the first of a number of new fundraising initiatives.

“Each of these initiatives will help to fund the work undertaken both by the Southport FC Former Players Association, representing the stars of the past, and Southport FC Juniors, who we hope to be the stars of the future.

“We recently applied to Sefton council for permission to run a weekly fundraising lottery and I am pleased to confirm that the application has been accepted.

“The lottery will be managed by Southport FC Former Players Association, a non profit society.

50p out of every £1 ticket purchased will come directly to us from the lottery administrator ‘Sports Club Lottery’.

“As a body representing the stars of the past we want to look after and support our stars of the future and therefore all profits will be split 50/50 between the Former Players Association and Southport FC Juniors, to help fund some of the excellent work we do between us in the community.

“Each entry stands a chance of winning £25,000, with smaller prizes also available for matching fewer numbers.”
