The Southport Comedy Festival has announced two more fantastic names for this year’s event.

The Festival will take place once again in a heated and seated luxury marquee courtesy of Elite Marquees in Victoria Park in Southport from 30th September to 16th October, 2022

Liverpool stand-up comedians Chris McCausland and Sam Avery aka Learner Parent will each be performing their shows, which are touring nationally, at Southport Comedy Festival in the autumn.

Chris McCausland’s critically-acclaimed show title Speaky Blinder refers to the fact that he is blind. His tour has been extended due to exceptional demand, with many dates already sold out.

The show is about life, family, and loads of other nonsense as well!

Chris has been performing stand-up since 2003 and has now become a regular face on British television with multiple appearances on: Have I Got News for You; Would I Lie to You?; Live at the Apollo; QI; 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown; with lots more TV appearances in the pipeline for later this year.

Chris is also a regular voice on Radio 4 flagship shows such as The News Quiz and The Now Show

Chris has performed all over the world, including across Asia and the Middle East. He has spent almost two decades travelling the country performing stand-up, and has long been firmly established at the very top of the UK’s live comedy circuit.

Sam Avery, who has also been performing stand-up comedy since 2003, is the author of the bestseller ‘Confessions of a Learner Parent’.

His blog about life as a twin dad has been featured in the national press and has gone viral around the globe, being translated into over 15 different languages.

His latest show Role Model is his third in a series about life as a dad following on from hit shows Learner Parent and Toddlergeddon.

Sam’s twin boys, who have now started school, are looking to him for guidance; it’s high-time he evolved into the role model he always thought he’d be. But he didn’t sleep well last night and being a hero is harder than it looks. Plus, he forgot to put the bins out and now his wife hates him.

In this side-splitting new stand-up show, Sam explores what it means to be a role model in modern Britain, how the people he looked up to shaped his world, and how the struggle to help his kids find their moral compass often causes him to misplace his own.

Can you be a role model on four hours of sleep? Can you mentor someone who thinks you’re a moron? And how do you change the world if you can’t even clean your kitchen?

Chris McCausland’s show at Southport Comedy Festival takes place on Wednesday 5th October and Sam Avery will be performing on Wednesday 12th October.

Chris and Sam join an already stellar line up at this year’s festival with TV stars Maisie Adam (Tuesday, 11th October, 2022) and Milton Jones (Saturday, 8th October, 2022) already on sale and lots more names to be announced over the next few months.
