As part of a three day on-campus Health and Social Care Event, Southport College will be partnering with Training Provider Smart Re Think and local care company Right at Home (Sefton) to deliver CPR Training to over 200 Health and Social Care students.

Those taking part are all studying Health and Social Care at either Southport College or KGV Sixth Form College. Whether they are studying it as a T Level, BTEC or Access course, they are all planning to progress to related further study and a career in the varied Health and Social Care sector, so this is fantastic grounding.

The hands-on CPR training they receive over the next few days will give them all the knowledge and confidence to be able to save lives and for many it will also give them a formal accredited qualification too.

The college is delighted to be working with Smart Re Think on delivering this project and very grateful for the trainers for giving up their valuable time.

The CPR training is part of a huge three day event which also sees presentations and hands-on practical sessions from a wide range of NHS professionals, including midwives, paramedics, physiotherapists and various nursing teams.

There is also a large careers fair where students can discover the opportunities available to them and the qualifications they will need to succeed.

Southport College is the leading provider of Health and Social Care courses in the area.

Whilst the CPR training and practical workshops are for current students only, anyone interested in starting a career in the Health and Social Care sector is welcome to attend the careers fair. This will be held in the Southport College Sports hall on Wednesday February 22nd from 1.30pm-4pm and is the perfect way to discover the qualifications the college offer and talk to industry professionals about the roles available in the NHS.

No appointment is needed – please just come along.
