A children’s shop in Southport that was ransacked by burglars earlier this month has reopened.
Thieves broke into Over The Moon Kids Boutique and Shoe Studio on Union Street in Southport town centre on Easter Saturday (3 April), causing substantial damage.
After a huge clean-up operation, owner Tina Bulmer is delighted to be back open again.
Now she is inviting local people to support her shop and other local businesses in Southport as they look to recover from months of lockdown.
She said: “We’ve had lots of bookings and our customers have started coming back, so we are delighted to be back open.
“Hopefully with the good weather the customers will want some lovely new outfits for summer, it’s so nice to see customers back in the shop and to hear all the lovely comments on our new summer collections, and how nice the shop looks.
“After 11 years we have a lot of very loyal customers who have sent messages of support, after hearing of our horrible break-in.
“We are looking forward to seeing everyone soon.”
The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm. Shoe Fitting appointments now being taken, please phone and Book on 01704 545884.
It is among over 80 local businesses which accept the new Southport Gift Card.
Owner Tina Bulmer is glad to be welcoming customers back after her burglary ordeal at Over The Moon Kids Boutique and Shoe Studio, after she had worked so hard to restock and get everything ready to reopen alongside others in our town on Monday (12 April) after months being closed during the national Covid-19 lockdown.
Speaking after the burglary, she said: “They have caused so much damage and I am heartbroken, especially after all the work we had done getting ready to reopen and welcome our customers back.
“We will repair the shop and will not be beaten by these heartless thieves.
“We will need your support more than ever when we do open, thank you for your understanding and continued support. Best wishes.”
Over The Moon Kids Boutique and Shoe Studio received huge support from customers on their Facebook page.
Karen Rimmer wrote: “Tina that is terrible. It’s devastating, you put so much work into the business. You shouldn’t have to go through this. I hope they catch the thieving scumbags! “You’ve got a beautiful shop and I’m sure you’ll have it looking as good as new in no time.
“You’re so lovely I’m sure you will have lots of support when you open again.”
