The Eurovision party is coming to Southport town centre this weekend!
This is your guide on what to expect at Southport Calling, plus other Eurovision-themed events taking place in Southport on Saturday May 13.
What is Southport Calling?
Southport Calling is a festival of music and performance to celebrate the Eurovision Song Contest, showcasing talent from Southport and the surrounding areas.
The event takes place at The Lord Street Bandstand on Saturday May 13 between 12.00 and 20.00.
Who’s performing?
The event will feature live bands, dance groups, performances, and the Sing For Southport competition.

What is the Sing For Southport Competition?
After progressing through an initial round of judging, seven talented vocalists will perform at Southport Calling. One will be crowned the overall winner of the first Sing For Southport competition.
Each performer will sing one song. A combination of scores from our judging panel and votes from the festival audience will decide the winner, who will be crowned on the day. The audience will be provided with details on how to vote on the day.
The seven performances will take place between 14.00 and 16.00, between dance performances from Central Dance Studios.

Who else is involved?
Compassion Acts are our official charity partners for the event. A special SMS Text Giving system has been set up for the event. Text SONG followed by your donation amount to 70490 to give that amount. Texts will cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message.
Sandgrounder Radio are our hosts for the celebrations.
Judges for the Sing For Southport Competition are Andrew Brown, Hayley Murray, Claire Kelly, and Jenny Wren.
What else is happening in Southport on Saturday 13th May?
Why not make a day of it?! There is plenty happening in the town centre to celebrate Eurovision.
The Eurovision Family Trail Follow the trail and find the 12 Eurovision activity posters in windows around the town centre. Complete all 12 and be in with the chance of winning great prizes. Maps will be available from the Southport Calling team on the day.
Eurovision Craft Workshop – Head to The Atkinson’s Art Box for an arts and crafts workshop suitable for all the family. There’s something for all ages, with all materials supplied and all for free!
Eurovision Comes to Pleasureland – The stage is set for an unforgettable experience where singers from representing some of the Eurovision nations will perform their iconic hits and mesmerize you with their performances.
Abba Disco Bingo at The Bold Hotel (Ticketed Event) – The fabulous DiscoBingo UK are bringing their famous ‘ABBA Disco Bingo’ night to The Bold with a special Eurovision twist!!!!
Eurovision Party at Royales (Ticketed Event) – Live screening, tapas, and party props. Booking required.
