Staff at The Bijou independent cinema in Southport are thrilled to welcome customers back tomorrow (Wednesday 2 December).
The cinema has been closed during the last few weeks of national lockdown but has lots of plans in place for when the new Tier 2 easing of restrictions begins, with a safe and Covid-secure cinema-going experience as possible.
Southport Bijou Cinema Manager Andy Harrison said: “We’re so happy that we’ve been allowed to open, and have done all we can to make the Bijou a safe environment for people to feel comfortable visiting in these strange times.
“Those who visited throughout October will know that our seating is comfortably distanced and drinks and snacks are delivered simply to your seats – but we’re excited to welcome new customers to enjoy the festivities we have in store.
“We have a great range of films screening, with Christmas classics like It’s a Wonderful Life, Home Alone, The Polar Express, and Love Actually on Christmas Eve!
“There’s also more-quirky, off-beat gems like 2013 space epic Gravity and Let the Right One In, so there’s something for everyone throughout the month.
“For local independent businesses, the new placement of Sefton in Tier 2 has been a lucky escape, so we offer our thoughts to places in Tier 3 and hope that we can all come together safely to beat Covid as soon as possible.”
Amongst some of the films screening in December, the Bijou is showing IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE at 2.30pm on Wednesday 16th December, DIE HARD at 7.30pm on Friday 18th December, and LOVE ACTUALLY at 7.30pm on Christmas Eve.
You can find more great movies and buy tickets online at https://southportbijoucinema.co.uk/ or on the door at the Bijou, pending availability.
