A stylish new coffee shop is opening in Southport town centre providing specialty coffees, craft beers and delicious food for all seasons.

Season Coffee, Bar & Kitchen is due to open on King Street, directly opposite the new-look Southport Market food, drink, and events venue, which officially opened last month following a £1.4million transformation.

The family run, independent business is another addition to Southport’s Market Quarter. Lots of work has gone into it since taking over the former Coral Bookmakers which stood empty for nearly six years.

Floral decorations will adorn the building to reflect the great British seasons and provide a stylish, laid-back atmosphere for everyone.

Visitors will be able to choose from seasonal food and drinks menus with dishes that use only the best local produce, in addition to the highest quality specialty coffee roasted, only a few miles away in Ainsdale. Craft beer, ciders, wines and spirits have been carefully selected in order to offer a unique experience to the people of Southport.

Manageress, Michelle explained that the concept was created to satisfy the increasing demand for quality produce and the need for a new social hub for local people and visitors to the town.

“We wanted to offer something different from the established national chains, by selecting the highest quality, premium, specialty coffee beans. Working with our friends at Django Coffee Company we can serve the freshest coffee, ground to order and ethically sourced. All of our beers either come from local breweries, or further afield from some of the great breweries around Europe”.

Season Coffee, Bar & Kitchen is very much a family-run business and a quality addition to the independent business scene in Southport. Michelle will be supported by her son and other close family and friends who are experienced in the hospitality industry.

Michelle and her mum will bake daily on site to offer a wide range of cakes to complement each season, as well as ensuring there are choices for those who are looking for gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options. The business also hopes to employ talented young people with a passion for offering great service.

Similarly, the layout and décor is reflective of the season and is currently setup for people to enjoy the summer feel, with bright colours adorning the walls and summer flowers on show. A choice of seating makes it a great venue for all ages and the spacious booth area is a great spot for larger groups and gatherings. The venue is a great spot for those working from home and offers free WiFi, or for anyone looking to just relax and sit back, there is even a classic chesterfield style sofa to match the theme.

Working with local partners such as Django Coffee Company and Blackhurst Butchers is just another way to support independent businesses and the local economy. Visitors will be encouraged to try new and exciting things as each menu adapts throughout the year.

Season Coffee, Bar & Kitchen is looking forward to opening very soon and people can keep up to date through social media and on Stand Up for Southport. The business will open 7 days and makes the Market Quarter a great destination anytime of the week.
