Children at Linaker Primary School in Southport took part in a kindness advent calendar

Schoolchildren at Linaker Primary School in Southport have been embodying the season of goodwill this week, taking part in a ‘kindness advent calendar’.

Children at the school, which is part of the Endeavour Learning Trust, have been challenged to complete a random act of kindness every day throughout December.

Teachers at the school say it has been wonderful to see how enthusiastically pupils have embraced each challenge.

Staff at Linaker Primary School have loved hearing from parents who are astonished by their beautifully tidied bedrooms and touched by the empathy the children have shown—such as bringing in toys to donate to children less fortunate than themselves.

Mark Cunniffe, headteacher of Linaker Primary School, said he was delighted with how pupils had taken to the idea. He commented:

“We are so proud of the positive actions and selfless spirits of our pupils as they complete their kindness advent calendar.

“As so often, children are showing our best characteristics in a true display of Christmas spirit. I’d encourage everyone else to follow their example and begin your own acts of kindness for the rest of advent!”
