Review by Rebecca Casey: An evening with Kelly Bond & special guests
What a lovely well organised charity fundraiser for Dementia UK. A celebration of music and memories in memory of Kelly’s beloved grandmother Maureen.
100% of the evening’s ticket sales and fundraising will go directly to the charity, so it was lovely to see the venue, The Bold Hotel on Lord Street in Southport, so busy.
Upon arrival the venue was beautifully decorated and such attention to detail, on the cabaret style tables, the table centre pieces were a lovely touch. The live music began at 7pm.
Featuring several local artists, providing their time free of charge, the evening started with acoustic guitar and vocals from Matt Fearon.
He was followed by the lady of the hour Kelly Bond, accompanied on keys and backing vocals by local musical director, David Wall.
A particular favourite moment for me was the Disney medley of old Princess classics, and a beautiful rendition of ‘Someone Like You’ from the musical Jekyll and Hyde.
Host and compere, the charming John Coates, also performed as part of Snake Eyes duo with Kevin Spofforth with lovely vocals from local singer Hayley Jones.
A great evening had by all, and such a pleasure to attend, thanks for your fabulous hospitality.
