Pride Of Sefton Awards seeks Sefton Young Sportsperson of the Year sponsored by DT Hughes

Calls have gone out to crown the Sefton Young Sportsperson of the Year. 

The new Pride Of Sefton Awards is inviting people to nominate anyone who you think has achieved highly this year in any sport played locally – whether it’s football, netball, rugby, cricket, swimming, squash, hockey, gymnastics, or anything else.

In a borough with so much sporting talent we would expect a deluge of entries. We would love you to tell us who stands out?

Nominees must not have reached their 19th birthday by 1st March 2023.

“DTH is heavily invested in supporting the youth of today from our community and would like to sponsor the Young Person Award to further promote that if we support the youth and their vision then anything is possible.

“The self-belief in a young person must be encouraged and motivated for them to be prepared for the future. It is a special occasion for these young people to be acknowledged and use this top continue to grow and to encourage those they encounter including friends and family.”

DT Hughes Group is a family run business established in 1984.

Since then the firm has grown steadily to become a leading Civil Engineering and Utility Operations Service Provider across Merseyside and North Wales.

Within our group, are a number of divisions including: Electricity, Telecoms, Highways Surfacing, Civil Engineering, Domestic Building Contractors and Commercial.

The head office is located in Aintree in Sefton with satellite offices across Wirral and North Wales. The company employs over 70 members of staff, from general administration to project management. 

DT Hughes is proud to have partnered with the local charity Weapons Down Gloves Up, which engages with 16-24 year olds in the Liverpool City Region who are not in education, employment or training. 

The 2023 Pride Of Sefton Awards are searching for someone truly special who has made a truly inspiring or outstanding contribution to life in Sefton over the past two years. 

People and groups who go above and beyond to make Sefton a special place for all will be presented with their trophies and given thanks in the Princess Grace Suite at The Grand on Lord Street in Southport town centre on Friday, 28th April 2023. 

The unmissable night in the Merseyside events calendar will be presented by actress and radio personality Claire Simmo, and supported by Media Partner In Demand Radio

All those on the shortlist will be invited to a special celebratory meal in beautiful surroundings while the awards are presented, with a night of entertainment planned. 

The first ever Pride Of Sefton Awards are being organised by Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group and Stand Up For Southport

Nominations are still being invited across all 13 categories ahead of the closing date on 6th March 2023. 

We are looking for nominations, across Southport, Formby, Crosby, Bootle, Maghull and elsewhere in the borough of Sefton.
