Southport Community Lottery

People are being invited to sign up to the monthly Southport Community Lottery – and support good causes in our area.

The Lottery is run by the Community Link Foundation, which is a local charity with a difference.

The organisation assists anyone in Southport and surrounding areas who need financial support in the form of a variety of ways.

Whether you are a parent with a child requiring assistance as part of an on-going illness or disease, a sports team in need of new equipment to benefit local young people or a community group that needs financial support for supplies or materials, Community Link Foundation can help those who need it most.

Among the ways that the charity raises funds is through its growing Southport Community Lottery.

This is a monthly prize draw that ensures the Community link Foundation continues to be able to support the most vulnerable in our community.

A Community Link Foundation spokesperson said: “You can become part of an exclusive lottery for a small donation of only £5 per month.

“By supporting our lottery you are helping us to make grants to people and organisations in your local community who are experiencing poverty, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantages.”

The easiest way to join the lottery is to set this up on your own via a banking app or online. Simply set up as a direct debit £5 for each ball you wish to enter. Use your name as a reference so the charity can identify payment and then drop an email to erylands@clfoundation.co.uk with your name, a mobile number and he will then confirm your entry.

To set this up use the bank details below:

Account Name: Community Link Foundation

Sort Code: 20-80-33

Account Number: 83942953

To ensure that the charitable causes continue to receive a correct amount from the Southport Community Lottery 50% of the total monies taken in will be awarded as prizes and the remaining 50% to go to the charity. This will mean that the monthly prize amount will vary as the number of participants in the Southport Community Lottery changes.

The new structure will be that two thirds of the prize pool goes to the winning ticket and one third is split between the five runners up.
