Owners of the new VS Jewels & Workshop in Southport town centre say they have been ‘overwhelmed’ by the response since they opened their brand new shop.
The family-run business welcomed its first customers on 27th April 2026, and has seen a steady stream of visitors ever since.
VS Jewels & Workshop is the sister site of the neighbouring Rebecca’s Jewellers, one of the oldest local independent jewellers in Southport, which has been trading since 1973 with four generations at the helm.
The opening of VS Jewels & Workshop came about as a result of increased customer demand for something new to complement what is already on offer at Rebecca’ Jewellers.

- Silver jewellery for sale
There are counters with silver jewellery available along with a jewellery workshop in store.
The on-site workshop means that the business can carry out most repairs and services by a team of skilled craftspeople within just an hour.
They are specialists in melting customers’ gold and silver and making beautiful bespoke jewellery, including wedding rings, engagement rings and more.
People will be able to have their watches repaired, as well as buying new watch batteries or watch straps, or having watch links fitted or shortened while you wait.
It includes watch servicing on luxury Swiss watches, with brands including AP, Omega, Tag Heuer, Breitling, Cartier etc.

“We have been overwhelmed by the response since we opened VS Jewels & Workshop a few weeks ago!
“It has gone far better than we ever imagined. We have been so pleased with the positive response, not just in terms of numbers of customers, but also in terms of the excellent feedback we’ve received.
“Many of our customers have been asking us to open something like this, but we have been very pleasantly surprised by the huge demand for our services.
“Rebecca’s Jewellers has been here since 1973 so as a family we have long been very invested in Lord Street and in playing an active part in Lord Street’s future.
“Our two shops are so perfectly placed, right in the centre of town, and are so convenient for people to come in and get what they need.
“The fact that we can complete top-quality repairs so fast means that you can call in and see us, go and find one of the many great places nearby to sit back and enjoy a coffee or something to eat, and you’ll be able to come and collect soon afterwards.
“We are running a special opening offer at the moment of One Hour Rhodium Plating for just £14.99, with each additional piece of jewellery just £10.
“We are seeing lots of interest in creating bespoke jewellery. It means you can bring in jewellery that has perhaps been inherited or that you no longer use as much and create something very special and unique to you.
“It’s perfect for creating sentimental pieces, or personal jewellery such as wedding rings or engagement rings.

The new venture will be open seven days a week, bringing further vitality to Lord Street, which has seen a series of new businesses opening in recent months.
VS Jewels & Workshop is in the unit previously occupied by Lapel Menswear, which moved into nearby Wayfarers Arcade earlier this year.
The transformation has been carried out by Nicholas Interiors Ltd, a local business based in Crosby.
The business is in the perfect location on the iconic Lord Street boulevard, which is seeing a real resurgence with some exciting new events such as Lightport, the Big Top Festival and Books Alive, along with investment into the Town Hall Gardens, The Garrick, Coffee King and a number of new businesses such as Wine & Words by Watson, which opened last year.
